We’re going to talk about the 3 stages of adrenal fatigue.

It’s kind of like a nice way of categorizing something to create an understanding, and from understanding, you can find ways to solve it.

 

The First Stage

So, the first stage is just chronic tiredness. And this can go on for years and decades.

 

The Second Stage

And the second stage is where people go into hyper mode. And the reason why is that the nervous system starts to be activated to compensate for this kind of tiredness. People usually in the second stage don’t feel a sense of groundedness. And their mind is relatively busy, and just wanting to do-do-do because the nervous system is pushing them. And a lot of people actually don’t catch this.

When I talk to my clients about “how’s your energy”? They will usually tell me – those who are in the second stage – “oh, I’m great. I wake up in the morning, and I run around and do things all day long…”. The issue with that is when the system doesn’t have a balance in terms of active time and relaxation time. If a person keeps going into this hyper mode for a certain amount of time, they’re going to step into this third stage, where you’ll even burn down your nervous system.

 

The Third Stage

And then it’s going to be one morning when you’re trying to get out of bed and you couldn’t. And you lay in bed for the whole day and sometimes days. I have seen somebody basically laying in bed for a couple of months, just too tired to think, too tired to do anything. So in a way, it’s quite crippling.

 

What Can We Do?

So, but if we understand this process, then it may bring awareness, and we find ways to catch it very early on in this stage 1 where we just feel tired, and we can give it the appropriate support, the appropriate rest, and the right amount of nutrition, to maintain the system in a better space. Then we don’t have to go through this whole gamut (of issues).
